Summer Conference 2016

New England Association of Chemistry Teachers

77th Summer Conference

August 8 - 11, 2016

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts

North Adams, MA

“Chemistry, Naturally!”

Plan to join chemistry teachers from all over New England for a stimulating week of learning about the chemistry of natural products while enjoying the company of old and new friends in the beautiful Berkshires.

The study of natural products is an area of organic and biochemistry that deals with the foods we eat, drugs we consume and the very DNA from which we are made.  There are many topics that will be addressed in lecture and laboratory format by leading chemists and teachers from the New England area.

Participants will enjoy the new Feigenbaum Center for Science and Innovation, where most of the sessions and workshops will be held.  Accommodations will be available in Hoosac Hall and most places on campus are a short walk away.  There are plans for a banquet and a side trip to the Williamstown Theater Festival.  The total cost with a single room will be $400, and doubles will also be available.  Commuters are also welcome.  There is financial help (scholarships) for attendees, especially for first-timers.  Nearby hotels are the perfect solution for a family vacation.
