Online Green Chemistry Course for High School Chemistry Teachers

$250 payable to Beyond Benign at time of registration
$65 (optional)  Cost for 1.5 graduate level credits from Colorado School of Mines (Due: 11/02/12)

Go at your own pace in this course to earn professional development points and optional graduate level credits. Specifically geared towards classroom implementation, the course provides free lesson plans and new labs. It is an interactive learning environment with audio, video, and insightful discussion.
 
This course is divided into two sections during the academic year to accommodate busy teaching schedules. Section One begins with an introduction to the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry along with how to introduce green chemistry to your students. Section Two then concentrates on the exploration and creation of green chemistry lesson plan materials for a broad range of general science and chemistry content areas. Resources provided are proven vehicles for bringing green chemistry concepts to high school students will be introduced. These lesson plans are designed to be integrated into current curriculum and meet national education standards in science and connecting disciplines.

The materials are designed for high-tech, low-tech, and no-tech implementation so that teachers with varying resources have an avenue for implementation. No text is required, although some additional resources for purchase may be recommended.
