Join us on the UMass-Dartmouth campus for a morning of history, chemistry, and cooking.  Registration opens in SENG 115 at 8:30 am (with refreshments) and the program begins at 9 am.
Our theme for the morning will be A Journey in Time.   We are delighted to have speakers from UMass (Dartmouth, MA) and The Chemical Heritage Foundation (Philadelphia, PA) on the agenda.  Professor Alan Hirshfeld, physics professor and author of numerous monographs in the history of science, will speak to us about how astronomers used spectroscopy to determine the chemical composition of the Sun.  Gigi Naglak and Jenny Dionisio, the creators of the popular First Friday Series from the Chemical Heritage Foundation  are traveling all the way from Philadelphia to enlighten and entertain us with their tasteful kitchen chemistry stories.
