10:00 Presentation:
Dr. Amy Cannon, a green chemist, fellow educator, and co-founder and director of Beyond Benign the nonprofit dedicated to green chemistry education and outreach will make a presentation about the sustainable science projects taking place at the 100 Research Dr facility in Wilmington, MA. She and her staff will then help attendees with hands-on activities which can be brought back to your classroom. T
he activities are designed to help students think about the sustainable chemistry now used in laboratory and manufacturing situations. Among the possible green activities are: acid base chemistry, extraction of organic compounds, low energy solar cells. Specific lesson plans will be available.
